This is my third string quartet. The title comes from a line in one of Robert Louis Stevenson's Songs of Travel: "Night after night in my sorrow"
It is in one continuous movement, comprising the following sections: Somniloquy, Pavor nocturnus, Somniloquy, Per noctem plurima volvens, Somniloquy and Incubus.
Night after Night was first performed by the Tippett Quartet on October 17th 2019 at Caryl Churchill Theatre, Royal Holloway University of London.
